Imperial Calcasieu Museum in Lake Charles

The Imperial Calcasieu Museum serves the five parish area of Calcasieu, Cameron, Beauregard, Allen, and Jeff Davis in Southwest Louisiana. The Museum is a well established 501c3 cultural organization supporting visual arts and artists, and cultural preservation. It has served our community for 54 years and is the only arts and cultural museum serving the area. The mission is to exhibit and support the visual arts, maintain a strong arts education program by offering educational opportunities, and to preserve the unique culture and history of the region. The vision statement is to position the ICM as the leading fine arts and cultural center for the region by increasing awareness, participation, and involvement. The Museum is supported by individual and corporate contributions, sponsorships, grants, fund raisers (Art of Fashion Design; Boogaloo) and some fees for services. The average monthly cost to operate the facility is $10,000 and 88% of the operating budget is spent with local vendors, suppliers, printers and contractors.
